Imperial Bioscience Research Register

Bioinformatics, Modelling and the associated omics technologies are advancing at a rapid pace. To more effectively foster collaborative research and to enhance our development of research strategy and investment, it is important to have a comprehensive overview of bioinformatics-related research going on at Imperial.

This will help to:

  • Enable researchers to find partners for collaborative research projects
  • To identify where central College investment and consolidation could both strengthen established bioscience programmes and enable researchers to set up new bioscience activities
  • To address critical challenges such as bioscience data acquisition, data analysis and archiving
  • To identify strategically important bioscience capabilities that are missing from our portfolio
  • To understand how the future needs and aspirations of Imperial researchers can be served by the adoption and development of new technologies

To facilitate this, the Bioinformatics Support Service has built an online database of bioscience researchers, their equipment and their capabilities and aspirations. This inventory of college facilities and expertise will be a 'living' resource for researchers to identify suitable partners within Imperial and a tool to inform research managers and investment priorities.
